Forensics and Its Impact

Throughout my time at UW-Eau Claire, I was involved in Forensics, which is collegiate-level competitive public speaking. For three years, I participated in this co-curricular activity focusing on not only improving my speaking and writing skills, but my advocacy as well. My passion for feminism, women's rights, and reproductive health was the topic for countless speeches, especially in my final season for the 2022-2023 academic year.

The focus that this activity has on the power of your words and showcasing your message is unlike any other activity. This activity truly centers on students, their passions, and their advocacy. As a result, Forensics helped shape me into the person I am today, and I know I wouldn't have the same confidence and skills if it weren't for the guidance and support of my coaches and teammates over the years.

Many of my fondest memories in college were because of Forensics. I also have immense pride in the work that I did not only as a competitor, but as a member of the UWEC Forensics team.
